ABOUT VET ARTS

VET ARTS was a supportive visual arts group for armed-forces veterans attending Queens College in spring of 2018. This program was held in partnership with Queens College Veteran Support Services. 

The group met for seven sessions and hosted informal open studio time for thee additional sessions. Participating artists created a variety of visual artworks, which can be viewed in the galleries, on topics surrounding personal histories, protection, future goals and hopes, and community engagement.

The group was designed and facilitated by Ashley Martin, an MSW candidate at Silberman School of Social Work (Hunter College), and supervised by Nancy Magidson, LMSW, both working through PROVE Veterans.
